Livelihood is an artwork that investigates the most ordinary places of the urban/suburban city -- the places we often speed past in our cars. The work is presented as an interactive image projection. This video documents a participant moving around in the area in front of the image projection showing her "walking" the image. As the participant moves left or right she causes the image to scroll out revealing more image and audio content. When she slows or pauses, the system delivers foreground images and sound. She walks in close to the image and sees more detail - even triggering links to new scenes. Livelihood rewards a slow, curious response to the material and allows us to discover and engage in even the most ordinary of places.
