One of my strangest and most fun directing jobs was to make a commercial for the NASDAQ screen on Times Square. The unusual shape of the screen (the whole front of the building) and the placement of the windows means that you have to compose the image in a particular way. My favorite part of this one was to bring the Icelandic waterfall, Skogarfoss, to Times Square. The waterfall is around 60 meters high and the screen is around 40 meters high so the waterfall looked magnificent in the middle of Manhattan. A couple of years later Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson built a waterfall in the Hudson River.
