Kickstarter is leveling the playing field across the world by allowing anyone to launch a project and get the funding needed to make it happen. Well, it's not quite as easy as that made it sound, so members of the Oregon Professional Photographers Association (OPPA) sponsored a workshop and learned what it takes to make a successful campaign. Multi-product developer (and photographer) Charles Waugh covered the major parts of a Kickstarter campaign, the structure of a successful video, the supporting stuff it takes, how to generate 'buzz' right off the bat, and how to avoid pitfalls along the way.
In this first of a two-part segment, Charles uses the wildly successful COOLEST COOLER project to teach how to do it right. This video is part of the continuing series of clips recorded in a half day session on July 20, 2014 at the Charles Fine Art Portraits studio outside Portland Oregon. Check out Charles Waugh's work at (charleswaugh.com). And if you are in the Portland area, consider joining the OPPA (oregonppa.org) and following their quest for continuous improvement.
