Hand painted flags, each one with a different image, wave as inofficial symbols beside and between normal, official flags in the city. The images on Myriam Thyes' flags are anti-representations, featuring social and cultural facts that are usually not highlighted or honoured officially. Added to the official flags, "smuggled" into their context, the artist's flags work as surprising statements.
