The drive on the winding roads through the heavily-forested mountains is wonderful after the desert, At Buffalo Pass we pause to look down on the desert to the East. There, a powerful formation dominating the entire scene, is Ship Rock. The thing is colossal.
A dirt road off Indian Rt. 13 takes you right to the foot of the Rock, but without something to scale it, the viewer can’t tell how enormous it is. So, I did step into one shot.
By the way, I was out there for a couple of hours, and not another soul came to the formation.
