Luigi’s (luigisgourmet.com) has been a hall mark in Rhode Island for delicious food and “treat you like family” service ever since 1971 when my parents “Luigi and Antonette” opened a small pizzeria here in Johnston.
Forty-three years later in 2014 Luigi’s Restaurant and Gourmet Express is still feeding Rhode Islanders great Italian food. These days Luigi’s is operated by the KIDS, myself and my sisters, Loreen, Lu-Ann and Lu’s husband Alan.
My parents, now referred to as “Nona & Papa” can still be found poking around on most days.
The Luigi’s of today offers guests many ways to enjoy our delicious, home style food and friendly service. Luigi’s Restaurant has an exciting menu featuring Appetizers such as our Antipasto Board, Clam Zuppes & the House Specialty Fried Calamari.
Our Entrees range from Traditional Southern Italian Favorites, to our Light & Healthy Amalfi Coast Menu with seven delicious entrees all under 600 calories.
We also serve big, juicy, half pound burgers and have perfected a recipe for Gluten Free Chicken Parm that’s making a lot people very happy.
Our bar is a relaxing spot to share some conversation, have some dinner, enjoy a cocktail or a glass wine and catch the game.
We’re very excited about the newly remodeled and expanded Luigi’s Gourmet Express where we offer old world flavors for your busy new world schedule. Come browse our thirty feet of deli cases filled with delicious home style prepared foods. We offer five to six different soups daily, salads, sandwiches and much more. Our quick and friendly staff will have you and your family well fed and back on schedule.
Our Espresso and Cappuccino bar along with our wide selection of ALL homemade desserts are a great way to end a meal. Why not stop in for an afternoon pick me up or even late night snack.
BRICK OVEN PIZZA IS BACK AT LUIGIS!
After many years we have brought back our father’s original brick oven pizza, Coming full circle, back to our beginning, but revised a bit with a contemporary flare. The dough is light and fluffy, the crust is “cracker crisp” cooked right on the brick. The sauce, cheese and toppings are the best available. We are so excited and proud to be making real brick oven pizza again at Luigis. You have to try the white clam pizza, it could be the best pizza I’ve ever had although the Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese pizza is unbelievable too. Whether you pick one up for take-out or come here to enjoy with one of our eight craft beers on draught, you have to try Luigi’s Pizza. We think you’re going to love it. After all PIZZA is where Luigi’s got its start!
