Cast Iron Farms is new in Sooke BC and literally starting from the ground up. I had the good people there showing me where they intend to build their house, their outbuildings and the old-is-new innovations such as hugelkulturs*. They are pretty excited about the possibilities and the new direction for this re-claimed site.

*Beyond berm building: it’s making raised garden beds filled with rotten wood to hold water, absorb rainfall into the earth like a sponge. The rotting wood feeds the soil.

I shot the video, recorded & edited the sound and edited the video in iMovie9. Thanks to my friend Neil McCann again for the great music and always grateful that my buddy Tim Smith helps rescue my voice recordings.
