In recent years, the goal of revitalizing the “Uptown/Main Street“ District has been recognized as a necessity for maintaining Lake Havasu City as a viable place for attracting and retaining a successful business community. According to a R/UDAT (Regional/Urban Design Assistance Team) study done in 2007, “Uptown Lake Havasu is at a cusp – it can re-emerge as the community gathering point, or it can slide into obscurity”.
In continuing to work towards this goal of Main Street as a vibrant town center, the Havasu Leadership Development Class of 2010, in partnership with the Main Street Merchants Association, presents its proposed class project of lighting the 75 palm trees and installing a speaker system along McCulloch between Smoketree and Acoma. This will provide an inviting ambiance for Uptown shoppers, as well as adding interest to the myriad of special events that take place Uptown throughout the year.
Come Visit Us at the Market on Main Street every Thursday from 3-7pm on the corner of McCulloch and Querio, so be sure to stop by!
