A photo-essay documenting the rituals, traditions and acts of hunting in South Africa. For centuries – and across many of the country’s diverse cultures – hunting has defined manhood, provided food and generated income.
From shooting birds in the Cape Winelands to stalking buck in the Bushveld, the hunting industry generates over a billion US dollars per year during the South African winter.
This series examines the hunters and their relationships with the weapons they carry, the environments where they track their game and the prey they pursue.
