Decade

Decade (2024, documentary, 12 min) celebrates ten years of advocacy and representation for the Down syndrome community led by photographer Hilary Gauld and the Waterloo Wellington Down Syndrome Society. What started as a simple fundraising calendar photoshoot has grown into an international movement to increase authentic media representation for people with Down syndrome and their families. This short documentary features some of the individuals and families who have participated in this photo series for the past decade, and reflects upon the importance of inclusion in visual media and beyond.
