The United States has over 12 million undocumented workers. A regional downturn in housing construction has led to a surge of day laborers who congregate in parking lots and curb sides competing for low wage jobs. "Igual Que Tú" takes you through a week in the life of six immigrant day laborers living in Washington DC, on a journey to find the American Dream in an Home Depot parking lot. Made with the full collaboration of the workers themselves, this film offers a unique human perspective which goes beyond the polarizing national debate. Touching on the themes of love, work and family, these ‘undocumented’ workers, pick up the video camera, and document the reality of their daily lives.
