april 2014 law was enacted to protect senior citizens in japan
they are to be fed by mouth not by tube unless it is dangerous, that is proven by examination; if safe, then they do not need to be tube fed and should be fed by staff, if they cannot eat by themselves. why was this law enacted, or why did the government have to step in, well of course, many are fed nutrients by tube, when they can be fed with assistance, so the government wants to insure humane treatment, the question is will they enforce the law? or is it merely PR
