In June, we travelled to Kenya to shoot a documentary film about about two Canadian “Old Guys in Action” who leverage their athleticism to support worthy causes. For this trip, Ross Weaver & Bernie Potvin's goal was to support the work of MCF founder Dr. Charles Mulli. Since 1995, Charles has adopted over 8,000 neglected and abandoned children from the streets and slums of Kenya. He offers them food, shelter, clothing, education and counselling. Today over 2,000 children ranging from toddlers to University students are in his care in multiple facilities across Kenya. Our film follows the Old Guys as they run a Marathon with the children between two MCF locations. We also document the incredible impact MCF has had on the lives of its beneficiaries and the local community.
This short video is a sampling our favourite scenes from filming in Kenya. We are currently editing a more thorough and informative documentary that will include interviews and provide context to our trip.
