At the start of 2014, I was the production assistant in pre-production for Felix Gill's documentary Ash Dykes- Walking Across Mongolia, which follows adventurer Ash Dykes as he becomes the first person to walk across Mongolia unsupported. Ash set off in May for Mongolia and completed the 2,000 mile trip in August 2014.
As part of trailer filming week, we went to Ash's hometown in Wales and then up to Tyndrum in Scotland to film Ash trying the first version of his cart and testing it out on rough grounds. This is a composition of a bit of my behind the scenes footage. You can follow Ash and his adventures on this link:
I would like to thank Felix for having me on board the project. I would also obviously would like to thank Ash, who is a fantastic guy with great determination and love for adventure. I wish him luck in all of his future expeditions.
I shot this on my Sony A-77 (in the rain!) and edited it on Adobe Premiere. The font was a free download- 'Men In Black Credits'. I found October Rolls by Cardinal Sons through a free download on Noisetrade.com. Unfortunately, I had to edit the song down due to the video's length. Here's the link to the band's album, I recommend it. I left a tip for the band.
