It was a dark, blustery night in 1904. The people of Everton looked to the roof of St Francis Xavier's Church. The bogeyman Spring Heeled Jack, famous far and wide, leapt into the mists of history and was never seen again. Now rumour has it that he's back at his old Everton haunt - and maybe never left.
Let us hail the return of Spring Heeled Jack!
Join the gathering for music, dance, storytelling and puppetry.
Inspired by and working with local people and their stories, Spring Heeled Jack in Everton is a procession performance moving through the streets of Everton and into its glorious park for a rousing finale.
Throughout summer 2014 there will be opportunities to get involved in the preparations for Spring Heeled Jack's return. All workshop groups are currently open to new members, and all will have the opportunity to perform as part of the event on 31 August 2014.
