The Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education and the Alice Ferguson Foundation presents the best practices of a multi-level partnership that helps schools coordinate diverse stakeholders. Through the 3 year partnership schools develop a compelling culture of learning at their school through site specific Schoolyard Classroom Curriculum (SCP) and a portfolio documenting criteria for an award as a certified Maryland Green School.
This video was filmed at the NSTA national convention in Philadelphia on March 18th, 2010.
Teacher participants experienced a slice of an hour long SCP lesson and discussed the best practices for teaching outdoors in the schoolyard. They also received information on coordinating resources and stakeholders through a Maryland Green School application.
