Let’s Talk Stolen Wages takes a look at the history of consecutive Queensland governments quarantining the wages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people up until the early 1970s. This money was used by government to fund public facilities like hospitals and roads. The workers were never paid which makes this an industrial relations issue. This took place in every Australian state and territory in the country, but this forum focuses on Queensland. The panelists are Leeanne Enoch from the Queensland Council of Unions, stolen wages claimant Viola Sheridan and historian and author Ros Kidd.
