This video provides student insight into what an actual course is like when doing vocational training (VET) during school. It includes information about: how to find out about the course, a typical training day, practical activities and theory components, challenges and how they may have been overcome, impact on SACE, pathways to further education, training and work.
Horticulture courses introduce students to pathways into a range of industries linking horticultural knowledge. Learn about: plant propagation; pests and diseases; tree care; and soils and nutrition. Much of the learning is hands on and students must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
Animal Studies courses suit students interested in either working with animals or volunteering and caring for animals. The course provides theory and practical training, some in a simulated and some in a workplace environment. Students experience, caring for a range of animals (feeding, cleaning, housing).
