The towering 7,000-foot peaks of the Sierra La Laguna mountain range frame the western skyline of San Jose del Cabo, yet few visitors know of its magic. Surrounded by desert to the north and water on the other three sides, within this range is a complicated and rare ecosystem consisting of alpine, subtropical and desert vegetation, coexisting in a pristine and lush environment. Desert vegetation gives way to lush palms and subtropical. At the highest elevations of the range, pine, oak and Madrone thrive in a garden-like setting. Until late spring, cascading water tumbles over smooth round boulders and dribble across the road. Los Naranjos is a 30 mile Dirt road that crosses this mountain range from east to west, Mountain biking on this road is a challenge perfecto for those seeking for the ultimate adventure!!
