Wanderer Session #8: David Dabney
Filmed in New Brunswick, New Jersey
He says, “I’ve been exploring parking decks recently.” Explore we went. “We can go on the fire escape at Jameson.” Climb we did. I was glad that David Dabney was who I was filming that day. December at Rutgers has been an unforeseen dilemma for finding spots to play. On one hand, we film outside, we’d be freezing our asses off. On the other, every quiet, warm, internet-ready nook at Rutgers would be occupied by students studying for finals.
Eventually, David just settled for rubbing and blowing on his chilly hands and played all around a very still Jameson Hall. “Eldred, Illinois” and “If I Really Knew You” were superb songs mixes of soft melodies and hopeful stories. He’s talented and enthusiastic. Two major qualities that seem to be in good reserve among products of the Point Church in New Brunswick.
