PUSH OFF is a punk band from Akron, Ohio They formed On June 14, 2009 their debut album "Fell Out / Things Fall Apart" was released on June 8, 2010.
With Will on drums and Anthony on guitar they formed "Shitty Local Band" on October 24, 2007. 2 Days later Seth joined them on bass. Seth rarely showed up for practices and only appeared on about 1/3 of the tracks on their demo, so fed up with him they kicked him out. 2 months later, in May, 2008 they ended SLB. They tried forming a couple other bands, "Lunatic Rejects" and "The Quick, The Bad and The Trashy", but those fell apart even quicker. In January, 2009 they decided to just be a 2-piece with drums and guitar. They started calling themselves "The Douchebags" because they couldn't think of anything better and needed a name to go by. In April they finished their demo and a month later in May, after agreeing to join the band in March Cody finally started practicing with them on bass. On June 14, 2009 after months of trying to find a new name they all agreed on "Push Off". They played their first show at the Northside Bar in Alliance, Ohio on July 18, 2009 and plan to continue playing shows until they die. They recorded their first album, "Fell Out / Things Fall Apart" on June 8, 2010. After returning home from their show at Skatopia on June 20, they went on temporary hiatus because Cody was moving away. For the next 2 years they operated mostly as a 2 piece with Cody occasionally playing a show or two but after recording 3 EPs and a split with practically zero involvement from Cody they agreed he had moved on. On June 4, 2012 Tony joined them on bass to complete the trio once again.
We will return to "Behind the Music" after this commercial break...
