Host Brian Lehrer interviews filmmaker Nina Paley (director of "Sita Sings the Blues") and Karl Fogel (editor of QuestionCopyright.org) about the film's distribution model and about the effects of copyright on artists and audiences.
Two of Nina Paley's Minute Meme videos were also shown: "All Creative Work Is Derivative" and "Copying Is Not Theft". They are part of the Minute Memes project at QuestionCopyright.org (where Paley is Artist-in-Residence) and were funded by a grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
This interiew was the middle segment of the show. The first segment was a conversation/debate with Prof. Michael Geist, attorney Jonathan Reichman, and Dr. Mark T. Esper about the ACTA ("Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement") treaty and how it tightens international copyright restrictions. The third segment was an interview with Jen Bekman and Jonathan Melber of 20x200.com , with artist Clare Grill making an appearance by video chat.
