WIth a dub driven soundtrack by IR Indigenous Resistance feat Sawandi, Jah9, Dr Das & Ramjac this DUBuMENTARY explores the IR project as it unfolds in the slums of Korogocho, Nairobi. IR works with Kenyan graffiti artists Swift, Kerosh, Bhupi, Chege and Uhuru to paint a mural design by Brasilian artist, Dubdem on the walls of the Daniel Comboni primary school. The mural references various themes & images prevalent in the work of IR, like Movement to Free Leonard Peltier, radical poet John Trudell, the Idle no More aboriginal protests, indigenous people in Brazil, especially the brutal murder of Galdino, Movement for a Free Palestine, Jamaican dubmaster Augustus Pablo, Indigenous philosophy from the Solomon Islands and the Mau Mau rebellion in Kenya featuring one of its military leaders, Kimathi. This was a spontaneous, totally independent project done with minimum of resources but with maximum cooperation.
Thanks to Monique,Eddie & Nads for the dub support. IR website is dubreality.com
