David was a great man of God and we have already heard in this series some of his exploits. This message unpacks David the family man and gives a few practical handles, which you may like to do with your family. Just to place in context the word family, some of us will default to thinking about our close families, spouses, parents, brothers, sisters, children etc. We are a Church family so please bear this in mind. David had 21 children, and we could learn a lot from his relationship with many of them, however, this message focuses on three of them, Amnon, Tamar and Absalom. For those not aware Absalom and Tamar were brother and sister, and Amnon was half brother to both. So to set the scene this occurs in 2 Samuel 13, previously we have read about David’s sin with Bathsheba, and then the death of their first son, followed by the rebuke of Nathan.
