For this video, I was really looking to get a home video feel mixed with an artistic attention to aesthetics; therefore, I shot this entire thing handheld all throughout the week of my family's vacation to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
I knew that I wanted the video to feel warm, yet a bit washed out and a bit filmic. Therefore, I decided to actually try to incorporate Speedgrade into my edit by making a custom LUT, then I tweaked it a bit in Premiere for each individual shot with RGB Curves, and added a bit of dirty film grain to achieve the look I wanted.
All of the shots were taken with a Canon T3i with either a Canon 35mm f/2.0 or a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
The music certainly makes this piece. I do not own the rights to the song:
"Auld Lang Syne" by Weaver At the Loom
