Four people are in custody following Operation Safe Communities in Imperial Beach. Deputies conducted parole and probation checks from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The goal is to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of their release and track down known offenders and their associates.
Using Intelligence-Led Policing, deputies check if the offenders are linked to actual crimes and devote resources to address safety issues in the neighborhood. The compliance checks also serve as an intervention so parolees and probationers are put on notice to help them avoid a criminal lifestyle.
