Mohamed and his family wanted a better life than the conditions they faced in Sudan. After years of living as refugees, they were able to relocate to Omaha to rebuild their lives. When they arrived, it was the International Center of the Heartland that helped Omaha become the home they’d been hoping for. With the help of a dedicated caseworker, Mohamed and his family were able to secure housing, furnish their home, get immunizations, and enroll their children in school. The family is thriving and Mohamed and his wife Neamat are working hard to be successful in their new environment. Thanks to the International Center and United Way, their family is safe, happy and confident that their future is full of possibilities.
