The original source material is generated feedback from 2 no-input mixers fed through a selection of audio effects pedals. The visual material is fed through processing to generate glitch effects and the results are pushed through several rounds of low grade mpeg4 encoding to further degrade the picture quality.
The composition uses a slow pulsing sine wave that pulls the random noise into a coherent piece. Noise - random audio - traditionally, has no real way of engaging the listener beyond a few minutes. With an underlying pulse superimposed over the noise, the mind has a base with which to focus on and yet enough variation in mid/high end to maintain interest. Inherently, there is always an ebb and flow to a musician's focus to the tools of production, reflected in the movement of the crushing distortion.
