July 26 - August 22, 2014
2298 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge
The exhibition features a 3D digital model of the interior space of an insurance office that is projected from the inside onto the front windows of the business. As the audience moves in front of the window from the street, the orientation of the room image shifts to follow the viewer. As the perspective points change relative to the viewer's change in position, it reveals and hides various elements of the room producing an essence or realism without the physical content. In presenting a conflation of image and form, the work is a commentary on the trend in technology toward visual hyperrealism and the notion of creating 3D space (life in form) from 2D imagery.
