This is from the August 19, 2014 Q&A Webinar for Make The Cut! and Popup Card Studio
Make the Cut version 4.6.1 & Popup Card Studio 1.1.0 are used in this Webinar. Each question notes if MTC or PCS is being discussed.
You can find the thread on the MTC Forum with questions addressed in this Webinar here: forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/39646/august-19th-webinar-over-what-questions-or-topics-do-you-have
00:00:00 Welcoming Remarks
00:00:57 MTC: user wanted to know how to modify a box found in the gallery (Box with top that tucks) so that it would be flatter and a little wider then the original file. Julie demonstrates how she would modify the box to the dimensions provided.
00:26:17 PCS and MTC: a user asked how to create a Halloween pop up card similar to one shown in the question thread. Bryan reviews the video of the card in question and explains that part of the card can be done in PCS but parts of it can’t be done directly with PCS. You can do the “parts and pieces” to create something similar.
Bryan notes that he found the actual card used in the video on Canon’s Creative Park website found here: cp.c-ij.com/en/contents/3057/c-halloween0005/index.html with the pattern pieces and assembly instructions. He then notes that the pattern pieces are a mixed vector PDF files with raster images for the “texture” and then shows problems with it in trying to import it into MTC using pixel trace. He then shows using Inkscape to separate out the parts and pieces to get them all into MTC. Then takes it into PCS to create the card base
01:37:00 Bryan then reviews why it wouldn’t work to do a “screen capture” of the card and do a pixel trace of the screen capture
01:47:13 MTC: User had asked how to put words into a shape (example given was to put a poem into the shape o a pumpkin). Bryan reviews different ideas/concepts of putting words into a shape but not necessarily where it is “readable” like a poem. Then looks at different ways to try to work out what the user is looking for
