The Catholic Charismatic Renewal Council (CCRC) sponsored the Novena to the Holy Spirit from May 30 to June 6, 2014. It was held at eight parishes in the Archdiocese of Toronto. The event begun with Holy Rosary, Praise and Worship, Novena Prayer, Holy Mass, Teaching and prayers for healing, and Eucharistic adoration. Deacon Mark Romeo, an Associate to the Archbishop's Liaison to the Charismatic Renewal in the Archdiocese of Toronto and Fr. Joby Kachappilly VC, Director, Divine Retreat Ashram, Faridabad, India presented life-filled messages on receiving healing and conversion of hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit. Fr. Joby shared his personal testimony, simple, straightforward and bold.
Sharon Garlow, the Chair of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Council, humbly asked for prayer and support to all members that God would bring delegates from all across Ontario. We also prayed for the labourers in the vineyard as we continue to experience the attack of the evil one.
At the end, God is so victorious. During the culmination of the event, the Pentecost Rally on June 7, 2014 was so successful at the Breneuf School College. There was a long and winding line up to get in for great rally as the delegates wait patiently for the door will be open. All seats were taken and saw people standing in the back of the Hall as the lively, appreciative delegates enjoyed hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Although, the fire alarm went on and we have to vacate the building. It did not deter the people to assemble again and show their faith hearing more words from God. We saw full of believers, past Chairperson and former Councilors of the Council in the auditorium with greater enthusiasm and vigor to glorify God. We witnessed healing and conversions of sinners. This was one of the memorable events that God has demonstrated his love for us. Praise God, Toronto is the now the hub of Catholic Charismatic Evangelizer.
