After carefully prying Doctor Who (the classic series) from the BBC, we worked closely with their brand management team to ensure our campaign was reverential and respectful.
Whovian designer extraordinaire Pete Jeffs and his incredible team at Drover TV helped us to realise our vision. The campaign was unapologetically retro, appealing to old and new viewers alike with enough attention to detail to ensure that even the most dedicated fan would not be disappointed.
The stunning animated launch promo is a journey back in time through the first seven Doctors and their arch nemeses. Focusing on the monsters really helped us to position the Horror Channel as a natural home for the Doctor Who, the classic series.
Drawing upon one of the main themes of the show: the tagline 'It's About Time' is simple and subtle. The Doctor himself, Tom Baker, adds real gravitas to the campaign with his unmistakable VO.
We created a campaign of teasers, promos, blipverts, as well as an outdoor campaign comprising T-sides, XTPs and DEPs. The number of Facebook fans grew exponentially. #WhoonHorror began trending and the Horror Channel enjoyed record viewing figures.
