Displaying the Iranian philosopher/mystic and master tanbur player's own instruments, the exhibition "Sacred Lute: The Art of Ostad Elahi, the Metropolitan Museum of Art celebrates one of the great musicians of 20th Century, a musician who almost never played in public, never directly made a record of his work, but his followers believe that his art and his life, and even his death were filled with unexplained miracles.
