Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a regular, ordinary girl, living in a small village. She was a peasant who believed in God – nothing special. Then, one day, God told her – you are the one that will be the mother of the Messiah. I have chosen you. Today, Pastor James looks at how Mary responded to that call, and the message in her response, which teaches us that we can do the same when God challenges us. We have a similar opportunity when He turns our lives upside down and asks us to do great things for him. Just as God interrupted Mary’s life, at times He interrupts our lives and says, “You’re the one I’ve chosen to do something big.” Just as Mary responded with humble faith and sought Elizabeth to share her journey of faith – a journey one does not do alone – Pastor James encourages each of us to think about those who have nurtured our faith, giving thanks that they have been there for us on our faith journey.
