This film reveals the current change in the Arctic: the northern polar region is the fastest warming area on our planet. The sea ice is receding ever further during the Arctic summer. This has dramatic consequences: on one hand, the polar bear looses vital habitat - because this previous top predator is used to hunt for seals on the ice. On the other hand, the Arctic ocean is increasingly opening up in summer, thus getting more and more accessible for orcas. Therefore, the so-called "killer whales" are taking over the role as the new top predators of the Arctic - while the polar bears are struggling to survive.
