The Blue Pig is an independently-owned, locally-sourced ice cream shop located in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Owned and operated by Lisa Moir, The Blue Pig uses fresh, real ingredients to make delicious homemade ice cream. I've been going to The Blue Pig for over a decade and was happy to produce a short film describing the business, its ethos, and its delicious ice cream!
The film was shot using a Blackmagic 4K Production Camera (shooting 4K ProRes422HQ) and a Blackmagic Cinema Camera EF (shooting 2.5K raw). All the footage was initially graded with DaVinci Resolve 11 and edited using Premiere CC. I also used Colorista II and Neat Video's Reduce Noise within Premiere to tweak and finish the video. Sound was recorded with a Sennheiser wireless lav and further EQ'd using Izotope RX - half of the interview took place in the kitchen while Ms. Moir was making batches of ice cream, so there was a decent amount of humming, whirring, and other noises while she described her business. Overall, I'm happy with the results I achieved, although the kitchen interview still sounds a little tinny to my ears.
