This super8 film was shot as a test film as i'd heard a rumour that kodak 500T film could be shot in near total darkness...i think i read somewhere that you only needed one candle light & you could shoot...
...i had to test this out & a gathering of DJ's playing for each other in a dark basement club seemed too good an opportunity to let slip by.
i shot this on my trusty (if slightly in need of a service to sort out a sticky apperture) 1977 Canon 514 XLS on Kodak 500T film stock.
sorry there's no music to this test film at the moment.
please note it is unedited footage.
if nothing else you'll get a good look at how dark you can shoot 500T and what to expect without taking an expensive gamble like i did.
also, there's a crazy looking shot quit far into the film it's actually a macro shot of the DJ's fingers tapping his decks...as you can see i pretty much pushed the film stock too far there...it had to be tested...
The DJ seen on this film is DJ Romain from Brooklyn NYC playing in Liverpool, England --- myspace.com/djromainnyc
