this is the edited footage from the helmet camera which was mounted on top of the trusty canon super8 camera.

i had an idea before we started to shoot that this would allow me to record the sound of the super8 camera and therefore allow me to make a pretty precise rough cut to synch the sound...

...i forgot to mention on the other post for never be seen that the sound recording of the band Hollow Point (now called "Scare Tactics") was recorded live from my miniDV camera...i actually insisted that the band played while i shot...this was interesting when filming the close shots around Stu the drummer! i then extracted the audio from the miniDV tape in iMovie & imported it into Audacity where i increased the number of channels for the track, added a wee bit of re-verb & equalisation then exported it out as an aiff file...this was then re-imported into the iMovie file, moved into position over the scene's it was to be used in and the audio fade in's & mix applied...i'm prett happy with the recording of the band from the little miniDV camera...all good ;)

i'll upload a version of the cut with the actual audio picked up from the helmet cam...& the footage from the miniDV cam so you can see how we shot every scene & where we got the audio recordings from...as well as showing us actually having a laugh in between & after scenes...

enjoy the footage from the super8 mounted helmet cam...it's a shame it's no good if you have to shoot in the dark thou...but works a treat if u can't edit you film & want to synch your sound as close as possible...please bear in mind my earlier comment on shooting a good few seconds at the start of a can to ensure that your synching will work ;)
