The last shot looks like it was made with a motorized pan head, but it wasn't.
I remember the first time I took a series of still photographs and laid them side by side, making a wide panorama. So the other day I thought, why not do the same thing with a series of videos?
So I took my wife to Talkeetna, Alaska for lunch, and when I saw this vista from the highway, I filmed the Alaska Range in six different shots. I then stitched it all together like a patchwork quilt using Final Cut.
The shots of the town of Talkeetna were an afterthought. Thanks go out to Stubbs, the elected mayor and town alley cat, who gave permission over a bowl of milk at the local pub. Bit of trivia... Talkeetna was supposedly the inspiration for the American sit-com "Northern Exposure", not that you would recognize it since the show was filmed in Roslyn, Washington.
