Cast nets were invented by the Chinese over 3000 years ago and have earned a well deserved reputation for being difficult to throw. In 1999 I finally threw a net and was appalled by how filthy I became. I designed a metal ring to throw the net (U.S. Patent 6,474,012) that was on the shelves of Walmart within a year and is still doing well; however, that ring only worked on smaller nets and there was no way to "load" the net so it was easier to handle. Fast Open Nets(TM) is my final answer to making cast nets easy to throw; I can load any size net, even the small ones, making them simple to open every time.
