Patrick Paradis was the youngest child of eleven—and the only boy. Born in 1928, he spent his life on Nantucket island, raising his family there and working as a carpenter. By the end of his career, he'd worked on island landmarks including the Nantucket Atheneum, Whaling Museum, and Cottage Hospital.
Through these stories and photographs of Pat's life—from walking to school at Academy Hill to Judy Garland's one night appearance at the Opera House to smoking a cigarette as a teenager in front of the pharmacy— a glimpse of old Nantucket can be caught.
