"Waste Not, Want Not" is an eye-opening introduction to the world of placenta encapsulation. We follow Sylvie, a certified doula in midwifery school, as she teaches Jeny—a doula-in-training, how to encapsulate a placenta. As we see the process unfold we also hear the reasons why a new mother benefits from ingesting the placenta—to prevent "baby blues" or postpartum depression, speed up breast milk coming in, increase breast milk production, spike energy levels and overall help the mood and ability of the new mother to meet all of the demands of a newborn. Jaimee is a new mother who has taken her placenta pills and she shares first-hand how "eating her meat" has helped her family have a better experience as new parents.
