Super Sounds is a short film I wrote and directed at the beginning of 2014.
It is a simple childhood tale about discovering friendship and receiving the gift of acceptance. Set in a quiet coastal town, a young superhero bumps into a quirky young girl. When events come crashing to an unexpected head he’s given the chance to act like the superhero he dreams of being.
The film had its world premiere at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy, in July 2014. Giffoni is the worlds largest children's film festival, and in the words of Francois Truffaut (the festival patron), is the most important festival on the planet. Being there for the premiere, screening to a packed cinema holding 1000 kids... I got a sense of why he made such a statement.
