Waterstaat is an installation on the water that explores the boundaries of connecting with its environment by mapping the floating elements on to the lake. By nesting itself in an area that is hard to use at a festival, like a lake that is not accessible for the audience, it turns a ‘gap’ into the centerpiece. Designing the installation in it’s context, we are exploring the possibilities of interaction with it’s surroundings. In the two expositions we had, we experimented with interaction by the audience, visualizing a musical performance and used programming inspired on flocking patterns. WERC & Media Art Friesland.
