Loving Farewell to Dharmakshetra Ka Raja
Dated: Tuesday 2nd September, 2014 Place Lokmanya Tilak Ganesh Visarjan Talav, Jogeshwari
Lord Ganesha is one of the most loved incarnations of the Lord.
“Atithi Devo Bhavah” – ‘the guest is God’ is what our Incredible India tells us. When the God himself comes as our Guest, He gets a royal reception, of course. After five days of treating Lord Vinayaka with unflinching devotion and love, it was time for us to bid farewell.
‘Ganpati Bappa Morya! Mangal Murthy Morya!’, the air was filled with the chanting. The joy of coming together for the Visarjan was boundless and unmatched.
After his 5-days sojourn at the blessed Dharmakshetra venue, devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation Mumbai bid a fond adieu to Lord Ganesha amid chants asking the lord to come back early next year. (“Ganpati bappa Morya… pudchya varshi lavkar ya” --- Come back soon next year, Oh Victorious Lord Ganesh).
And amidst incessant heavy downpour, the aarti was offered to Lord Ganesha before immersion.
Both the Ganapati idols, the bigger one belonging to Dharmakshetra and the smaller one belonging to Pandya family were immersed together.
