I called this lucky escape because, my camera was mounted onto a gorilla pod in the portrait position. I went portrait as I wanted to crop into it horizontally and pan down in post.
After composing my frame and set the timelapse running at 1 frame per second over 35 minutes, I checked the viewfinder around the 30 minute mark and noticed the composition had changed, thinking all was ruined as I hadn't tightened the gorilla pod fully onto the camera base.
After getting home and running the captures through after effects, I noticed I got a smooth and consistent pan, from what originally was a mistake. What a stroke of luck. See my other video for the intended result (now with a double pan so to speak!)
