The Maldivian islands are as typical as one sees them in travel editorials: pristine beaches surrounded by crystal clear waters set against azure skies. The dives were nice but not particularly exciting as the underwater sightings were relatively common for seasoned divers. However, marine life was not the intended highlight of this trip anyway: being on board the luxurious Princess Lara (dreammaldives.mv/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=11&Itemid=11) for a dive safari was. She is indeed one of very few brand new luxury liveaboards circling the atolls of the Maldivian paradise.
Have absentmindedly left out a clip of convoy of eagle rays at Rasdhoo Madivaru (but they were a tad too far out anyway). Also omitted are the countless sharks in the one dive at Bathala Kon Thila (camera batteries out of juice). Otherwise, manta rays aplenty in here. Enjoy.
