Dora Barilla, DrPH,MPH, CHES
Dora Barilla is currently the MPH program director for the health policy and management department at Loma Linda University School of Public Health. She is also the founder and director for a not-for-profit organization, Partners for Better Health, promoting health initiatives in communities.
Dr. Barilla has worked in health care for many years partneringwith hospitals, providers, health plans, and community-based organizations. She has implemented innovative alternatives to traditional health care by using a collaborative and community-based approach. She serves on the Board of Trustees for San Antonio Community Hospital and Bilingual Family Counseling Services.
Juan Carlos Belliard, PhD,MPH
Juan Carlos Belliard teaches in the areas of culture and health, traditional, complementary and alternative medicine, ethnographic research methods, health disparities, and migrant health. He is currently involved in research on medical pluralism, exploring how migrant communities utilize parallel systems of health care. Other research projects include: Access to mental health services for members of the Latino, Asian Pacific Islanders, and Black communities; medicinal herbal use among Latinos in San Bernardino; health planning to address Latino health disparities as part of Loma Linda University’s Center for Health Disparities Research.
