One day at gym I noticed the girls practicing their back handsprings on the lines. I didn't think anything of it until one of the moms mentioned it looked like the coaches were going to start working on a new trick. A few minutes later, I hear gasps and I look up. I see Khyla on the balance beam in position (have I told you I am clueless?) for a trick. I thought she was going to work on back walkovers. Not this time, with all the confidence in the world, Khyla did a perfect (perfect to me at least) back handspring on the beam. Oh my goodness. My heart dropped, I quit breathing, and then I started to clap. She did at least 10 great back handsprings on the beam in a row. The next day I brought the camcorder. Natasha, the coach, noticed I had the camcorder in my hand and knew immediately I wanted to catch her on video. She had her warm up several times on the floor then away she went. I am so proud of how hard she is working!! She is definitely her father's daughter.
