This is sample output from my installation that was exhibited at the Joinery Gallery, Dublin in late 2008.
The installation piece uses software to generate audiovisual entities that obey simple sets of rules. From random initial conditions, these 'boid' agents develop patterns of behaviuor based on their relationships with the other inhabitants of the system. Each run of the piece is truely unique, yet a distinct character spans across performances as tendancies to flock emerge again and again. Qualities of the individual graphic agents are sonified using granular synthesis methods to provide an aural reinforcement of the visual patterns produced.
Visuals are realised in the Processing programming environment with audio generated in Max/MSP.
